President Obama's Inauguration 2013

One thing that I was really excited about this January of 2013 is the second inauguration of Barack Obama. It was beyond the natural norm of how I excited I would usually be because it was set on the date of Martin Luther King Day. I just thought that the date represented and the events that took place was amazing. It makes you think that maybe we have changed a little as a society as a whole, which is comforting and amazing.

Though I am not a person that is obsessively into politics and know every aspect of every issue or the many accomplishments of President Obama (in actuality, I am the least person you can ask about politics), I feel a sense of pride that he is our president. I have a great admiration for our president. I can honestly say I am proud of him as a person. When he speaks, I immediately listen. His tone of voice draws you in and fills your heart with hope. His smile warms your spirits and reinforces his beliefs of change in this country. I also love the way he loves his wife, Michelle Obama.

I know it may seem I have a crush on President Obama; I really don't. I just really applaud his faith in humanity.
"Our journey is not complete until all our children, from the streets of Detroit to the hills of Appalachia, to the quiet lanes of Newtown, know that they are cared for and cherished and always safe from harm."
